Window shade styles
Banded Shades
Get the look and functionality of a roller shade and a sheer shade in one. Banded shades offer a modern solution that provides easy view-through capability, light control and privacy. The solid bands can be overlapped for ultimate privacy, or aligned for natural light diffusion. These shades are easy to operate for large windows, and are available in a variety of colors, textures, patterns and opacities, from light-filtering to room-darkening.
Cellular shades
Created with “honeycomb” cells, cellular shades are sleek, with great light control and insulation. The inner cells help trap air that acts as a barrier between the window and the room, keeping your home comfortable. They are created without external cords, raising and lowering with a simple pull or push from the bottom, ensuring they are safe for children and pets. Cellular shades also offer excellent privacy while still allowing natural light into your home, or can be ordered with blackout fabric if desired.
Motorized shades
Whether you want easy-to-use window treatments on hard-to-reach windows or just want to add a touch of automation to your home, motorized shades offer the best in convenience and great aesthetic. Now a standard in the industry, motorization can be either battery operated or hardwired, with handheld or wall-mounted remotes. Hidden Valley Designs is Hunter Douglas motor-certified, ensuring your motorized shades are installed correctly no matter what type you choose, and we can even help you integrate the controls onto your smartphone.
Pirouette® shades
Pirouette® shades from Hunter Douglas give your windows a modern alternative to traditional fabric shades, with clean lines and a straightforward design. The front-facing fabric vanes are softly contoured with a single sheer backing, and when opening or closing, the vanes all move together beautifully. For an unobstructed view, they can be raised completely to the headrail. The Pirouette® shades are available in a variety of fabrics and opacities to match your design and needs.
Pleated shades
Much like cellular shades, pleated shades are easily opened and closed without exposed cords or chains, making them a great, safe choice for homes with kids or pets. These shades are crafted using one layer of premium, pleated fabric for a chic, practical window covering solution. Pleated shades can be designed in a variety of fabric patterns and natural textures to dress up any room.
Roller shades
Roller shades are the perfect choice to add excellent style to your windows. Available in a variety of fabric patterns and even textures, these shades roll up easily and neatly at the top of the window for an unobstructed view. Depending on choice, these can be light filtering or blackout, perfect for bedrooms and entertainment areas.
Roman shades
Considered a timeless classic window covering, Roman shades provide elegance with a clean, streamlined look. These fabric shades are easily raised and lowered with a cord system and rings that are sewn into the back of the fabric, and when raised fully, stack evenly in horizontal folds. Choose from a variety of fabric options to create the perfect look for any room.
Silhouette® shades
Crafted by Hunter Douglas, the Silhouette® shades offer the luxury of both light and privacy. With adjustable, S-shaped vanes almost floating between two sheer fabrics, the light can easily filter in, but the view from the outside in is obscured. But thanks to their unique combination of front and back sheers, the view from the inside out is maximized. These shades are available in a wide variety of fabrics, textures, colors and hardware, and offer excellent UV protection for your home’s interior.
Solera® soft shades
The Solera® shades from Hunter Douglas provide the soft look of a classic Roman shade with the internal construction of a cellular shade for a beautiful look that is energy-efficient. These allow for easy light control with a top-down, bottom-up design for versatile operation and privacy without hindering access to natural light. The Solera® shades are available in a wide variety of fabrics, colors, textures and patterns.
Sonnette® cellular roller shades
Get the simplicity of a roller shade and the insulation of a cellular shade with Sonnette® from Hunter Douglas. Crafted with two layers of fabric, natural light is diffused to create a beautiful, soft glow. The second layer is virtually undetectable but provides energy-efficiency to help insulate your home. These shades are available in a variety of fabrics and colors, and can be crafted as semi-opaque or room-darkening to suit your needs.
Woven wood shades
Add texture and an updated look to any room with woven wood shades. These shades are crafted using natural materials, such as bamboo, jute, rattan or grasses that are then woven into a shade for a beautiful appearance with rich texture. The level of light filtration and privacy will depend on the material selected, but these can be created with a liner to offer more privacy regardless of which option you choose.
Solar shades
Solar Screen Shades function much like screens, but can be opened and closed for more control of the amount of light allowed in. These shades can be used indoor or outdoor and are also available in a variety of colors and design options, whether you want lots of natural light or a higher level of UV protection for your porch or patio.
